Quick Bite of Candy History
In 1873, malted milk was invented as a strength-building food for infants and invalids by a Britishpharmacist living in Wisconsin. Soonmalted milk became the super food of generations. Explorers took the North and South Poles. Parents gave their kids malted milk drinks for nutrition and strength. World War II soldiers got a stash of malted milk tablets in their rations. AND -BEST OF ALL (in our opinion) chocolate-covered malted milk balls became a hit, appearing in movie theaters and candy bowls starting in the 1920s and ’30s. How good is that?
